Accounting is changing quickly
AI is creating new opportunities. Regulation continues to evolve. AML reforms are approaching. ATO priorities are shifting. And firm owners are having to think differently about everything from technology and talent to risk and the future of their businesses.
For us at Squeeze Group, that makes staying connected to the profession more important than ever. That’s why you’ll regularly find members of the Squeeze team at accounting conferences and industry events. This week I was at the 2026 IPA Victorian Conference, held at the RACV Torquay Resort; a stand out architectural design that integrates with the coast in a beautiful, scenic location.
Listening to what’s happening on the ground
I spent time at the conference hearing directly from accountants, industry leaders and experts about some of the biggest issues currently facing the profession.
And while conferences are a great opportunity to hear from speakers and experts, some of the most valuable insights often happen outside the sessions. What’s keeping firm owners awake at night? Where are teams feeling pressure? How are firms approaching AI? What changes are creating uncertainty? And where are the biggest opportunities?
Those conversations matter to us.
Building for what firms actually need
At Squeeze, we’re building a group designed to make great accounting firms stronger. To do that well, we need to stay close to the realities of running an accounting firm. Because the support firms need today isn’t necessarily what they’ll need tomorrow. Changes in regulation require capability and strong processes. New technology requires investment, implementation and confidence from teams. Increasing complexity requires specialist support. And evolving client expectations require firms to continually rethink how they deliver value.
Being part of a broader group should make navigating those changes easier, not harder.
Better together
We believe there’s enormous value in bringing great firms together, sharing knowledge and building capability that individual practices don’t always have the time or resources to develop alone. But we also believe Squeeze has a role to play in the broader accounting community. That means showing up, listening, contributing to the conversation and continuing to learn from the people shaping the profession around us.
